ICHR works with people on the ground and victims of torture to bring to the attention of the United Nations Committee Against Torture instances of cruel, inhumane or degrading punishment. Cases are submitted wherever ICHR learns of a violation of the treaties that a state has signed and followed both in writing and through speeches at the UN until answers are forthcoming and the abuse is stopped.
