- Conferred with the UN Special Rapporteur on Women (Mrs. Radhika Coomaraswami) on the issue of women’s plight in armed conflict areas, urging her to prepare a report on this crucial issue and to place the same before the High Commissioner for Human Rights and the UN Commission on Human Rights.

- Conferred with Special Rapporteur on Torture (Mr. Nigel Rodley) on the issue of torture in general, and the fast track system in particular, which could be employed in dealing with the complaints filed.

- Conferred with the Special Rapporteur on Judges and Lawyers on the murder of lawyer and human rights activist Jalali Indrabi in the Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir, leading to the Special Rapporteur intervention at the UN Commission on Human Rights.

- Briefed and presented a paper to, Mr. Ibrahim Gall, Assistant Secretary-General for the UN Human Rights Committee, on the various armed conflict areas in the world.

- Conferred and consulted with the Chairman of the 50th Session of the UN Sub-Commission on improving the specialist work of the Sub-Commission.

- Consulted with the Chairman of the 54th Session of the UN Commission on Human Rights with regard to the human rights abuses, particularly in armed conflict areas.

- Consultation with the High Commissioner for Human Rights in relation to a request for comments on the Covenant on Social, Economic and Cultural Rights.

- Conferred with, and advised, Mrs. Mary Robinson, High Commissioner for Human Rights, concerning the human rights violations occurring in Chiapas, Mexico.

- Consultation with the Chairperson of 55th Session of the UN Commission Human Rights with regard to the work of the Commission.

- Briefed and consulted with the different Special Rapporteurs of the United Nations Commission for Human Rights during the 59th Session of the United Nations Commission on various human rights issues.

- Conferred with and advised, the High Commissioner for Human Rights, concerning the human rights violations occurring in the state of Jammu & Kashmir.
